“I love sharing my very simple life as an artist and writer – and invite you to visit in whatever way suits you best. This is truly the land of Pura Vida.” Jan Hart

Here are some ways to do it….

Costa Rica – Painting with Jan

Come paint with Jan.  You can come for the most popular  5 Day Painting INTENSIVE  for two or three people – or a Family.  Lots of ways to make it an adventure. Or you can choose to come  for a morning or for a few days.

Costa Rica – Workshop: Painting the Exceptional Colors of Costa Rica

7 day watercolor workshop.  No workshop yet scheduled for 2017.

Come stay at Casa de Corazon

And choose to paint or write a day or two during that time with a Pura Vida Package.

Tax & Cancellation Policy for all Jan Hart events:

Appropriate state taxes will be added where required. There are no taxes required for Costa Rica. Spaces are reserved on a first deposit received basis. Your deposit is 1/3 of the total charge for the workshop. Once your place has been reserved, there will be a non-refundable cancellation charge of $150 prior to 75 days before the event. The cancellation fee for less than 75 days before the event will be charged according to expenses incurred. The final 2/3 of the total is due 30 – 45 days before the event. No refund less than 30 days before the event unless a replacement participant can be found. We reserve the right to cancel any event, in which case we will make a full refund. Any refund due will be paid within 30 days after the event. Thank you.

The best way to find out more about a particular workshop is to email me and ask. I check my emails regularly and will get right back to you – usually within a couple days.

To register for a workshop, check the deposit amount required with the workshop description and then email Jan to tell her you would like to register. She will let you know how to submit your payment.

  1. Hi dear Jan, curious if you have any plans to teach in the US in the future, I’d so love another chance to learn from you.
    Thank you,

    • Thank you, Jan – for your comment. Right now I’m looking at 2018 to return to the US to teach. I postponed my Ghost Ranch workshop that was scheduled for fall 2017 just due to travel concerns and uncertainties. I’ll be posting a new newsletter soon…. Thanks!

  2. Hello, Jan – I found you on the Internet by looking up art classes in Costa Rica. I want to relocate to Costa Rica this Summer/Fall. I am retired, single and wanting to enjoy life. I used to paint years ago and I want to take it up again for personal enjoyment although I remember my angst many times – still, the process is wonderful and personally satisfying and fulfilling. I understand you teach classes. I haven’t decided where to move to – I have thought o San Ramon, Hereida, or San Jose. I want to walk everywhere I want to go. I have two dogs and a cat I will be taking with me. (Selfishly.)
Can you steer me along in the right direction? Personal enjoyment is what I am looking for…not professionalism.
I thought about taking a class at a local university but I don’t know which ones are “real” and which ones are not. By that I mean accredited and honest. You are the only artist I have had contact with and I will tell you, I love your work.

    • Thanks for your comment, Bryn. Whenever someone asks me about relocating to Costa Rica, I tell them that it is very important to come take a look and ask a lot of questions. This is certainly not a place or destination for everyone. I have never regretted that I took a tour with George Lundquist and Jane Gregson, It is a good place to start.
