Jan’s Words: My plan was to paint a scarlet macaw directly onto the paper – without any preparation. I was going to just jump in. There was no drawing or idea of a background. I had only a photo and a brush and paints. I wanted to see where it would get me. This is the demonstration result. I added some ink line after it was dry.
