New Mexico Paintings (1993 – 2007)

Jan Hart moved to northern New Mexico from Seattle, Washington in 1993 – to pursue a dream ignited by the lyrical works of Georgia O’Keeffe. For 15 years she painted and taught watercolor from her studio in Española. Through studying O’Keeffe’s paintings and the nearby places she painted Jan says she learned about color relationships and the flow of the land. This collection of Jan’s paintings includes some of her landscapes and personal subjects as well as others that began as demos for her New Mexico workshops.
