Jan’s Words: I saw these two toucans up in a tree during a workshop I taught in Costa Rica a few years before I decided to move here. It was hard to tell if they were parent and offspring or a couple, but I decided it looked a lot like a kiss to me. While the mating ritual of toucans is usually a fruit toss between the two, some actual mutual feeding can occur too. And there they were – completely focused on each other. A special and intimate moment.
