Jan’s Words: This was another painting I began and then put away, unfinished. When I found it after 3 years, I really liked where it was headed and decided to finish it. As soon as I completed the head, it seemed to come alive – as paintings often do – and then all that was needed was some shadow work and accents. There was something about the foliage and the texture and pattern of the iguana’s body that suggested interconnectedness in nature. And so it found its name.
