Jan’s Words: In my early years in New Mexico I belonged to a Santa Fe group of artists who met monthly to critique our work. I remember the surprised faces when I put up this abstract painting I’d just finished. It was the start of a deep desire to move toward the abstract in my work. Sometimes I’m able to come close. This painting reminded me of music.
