Jan’s Words: In a workshop I had in Española, NM I demonstrated daylight and moonlight with two paintings of the Echo Amphitheater rocks. For this daylight version I was especially interested in showing the shaded part of the rock with its reflected light and the obvious blue/violet cast shadow. Such a wonderful contrast between the fully lighted surface and the shaded part. The light is so pure at the high elevations of northern New Mexico.
