Jan’s Words: There was a day in New Mexico when I saw Polly sitting on the kitchen table next to a vase of flowers and a plate of apples. I quickly took a photo. I started the painting very soon, in my studio. But I didn’t finish it. I painted all but her eyes reasoning that I didn’t want her watching me as I worked. Recently I finished her eyes – and now love that she is watching.
