Jan’s Words: As soon as I began this painting I felt the urgency of the Scarlet Macaw’s intention to fly. It was in the eyes as well as the flexed wings. And as I painted the amazing colors of the feathers I found my way into the background. Suddenly I was in the indescribable realm of my right brain where artistic license and love of design and motion simply prevails… And the trees became accomplices to flight.
