Jan’s Words: I have long referred to the low lying horizontal clouds that I see lying quietly in the valley in the early mornings, ‘sleeping angels’. I have imagined that their place at night is to sleep and watch over the city I love, San Isidro de El General in southern Costa Rica. As the morning progresses, they slide off and disappear, to return the next night. On this morning I saw the billowy white clouds rising and catching the rosy and orange morning sun – just behind the Tinnamaste Ridge And the Sleeping Angel clouds were there between the mountainous peaks and slopes.
