Jan’s Words: Tanagers are the birds I most enjoy in Costa Rica because they come readily to the bird feeder for bananas. And the Speckled Tanager is one I love to see because of its amazing color –and the occasional look in its eye when it is checking me out on the front porch. This was a joy to paint!
