Jan’s Words: This painting started as a demo in a workshop and didn’t get beyond the body of the iguana. I put it aside deciding I’d look at it later because I didn’t have any ideas for the background, and the photo provided no good suggestion. To my surprise, three years later I pulled it out to finish. Suddenly the background leapt into my mind from the suggestion of the spines.  And what fun I had playing the spines into the varied trees. I was even able to include a couple of Rainbow Eucalyptus trees. Suddenly I loved it! I wondered why it had been so illusive.

• Painting is unframed and shipped by USPS in a sturdy cardboard shipping envelope. $15 flat fee includes mailing and insurance charges to all U.S. locations. $35 flat fee includes mailing and insurance charges to all international locations.
