Jan’s Words:  I often begin a workshop or intensive with a demonstration of several of my favorite watercolor pigments – to show their abilities and characteristics. Often the subject is an orchid because it offers rich contrasts and possibilities to play with the pigments to show how they work together. And every so often, one of those paintings works in a new way. So it was with this one. As I glazed some of the areas near the center it began to glow. And then I saw an angel in the petals.
