Jan’s Words: Excited about water reflections as well as painting trees loosely, I selected a photo I had of Shaw Island – one of the islands in Puget Sound, Washington. I hoped to paint the sun lighted brightness, the dark mystery as well as the suggestion of human habitation with the building off to the side. And of course the soft reflections in the water. I called it ‘Soft Landing’.
