Jan’s Words: In 2012 I taught a two week watercolor workshop in Tuscany at Villa Casacce. Each day we traveled out into various surrounding hill towns and cities to wander, explore and paint. On this day I sat on a rock next to the Abbey at Monte Oliveto Maggiore and looked out across the valley below. Such wonderful patterns in the fields, gardens and private residences. And always the cypress punctuated edges and road ways. This what what I painted that day.
